Flying turtle mushroom shell

Creature design illustration.

These turtles live in a remote area of land that is covered by 90 percent watery marshlands, once the mushrooms from their shells grow big enough, which takes about 5 or so years they fill with a gas akin to helium in it’s properties which causes them to lift out of the water and gain the ability to fly/float through the skies, they gain the ability to control this gas like substance which then allows them to return to the swampy marshlands to reproduce and lay eggs every few years after reaching. Scientists are still studying these creatures to better understand exactly how they are able to function in this mysterious way.
